Flava Netball Club is committed to the development of men's netball and for this reason enters teams in mixed netball competitions. Since its inception, Flava has allowed boys to attend its junior training sessions and some have played in competitions for the club. In developing this further, since the end of the 2001/2, men have been allowed to attend Flava senior training sessions, to the benefit of the women, and the core of a men's team has been formed.

All England Netball Association, the governing body for the sport does have a structure of competition for men and there is currently a lobby within the sport pushing for a change. As a forward-looking club, Flava Netball Club aims to be at the forefront of this change. The starting place is in mixed netball mainly because there are already established teams and the availability of competitive opportunities. In the future, there will be all male netball teams and when that day comes, Flava Netball Club aims to be one of the leading clubs.
