Flava Netball Club was established in April 2001 as an amalgamation of three netball clubs based in the Hulme and Moss Side areas of Manchester. These were Elite Netball Club, Moss Side Netball Club and VIP Netball Club. The club aims to participate in the sport of netball from junior through to senior level through the playing of netball in local, national and international leagues and competitions.

Flava Netball Club currently consists of four senior teams, a junior section for those aged 8 - 16 years. Flava senior teams currently play in the Manchester Evening League in divisions 1, 2,3 and 4. Flava is also committed to the development of men's netball and encourages boys to play netball as well as being represented in Mixed netball competitions.

Training: Sessions have recommenced for seniors at Moss Side Millennium Powerhouse on Tuesday nights from 8 - 10pm. Sessions are open to all and new players are more than welcome. Flava Netball Club currently have 3 senior teams participating in the Manchester Evening League. Flava A & B teams will start in Division 2 and Flava C team will start in Division 3. The club also has a team in the Reddish League and regularly competes in other tournaments and competitions.

Change of Club Kit: After 3 years of skirts and tops, Flava Netball Club has changed its kits and players will now sport attractive lycra dresses to enhance the clubs modern image. Dresses were supplied by Steve Swain.

 

 

Jamaica Netball Team: Flava Netball Club hosted the Jamaica national netball squad during their tour this summer of England. Jamaica drew with England in a tight three match Test Series and during their trip to Manchester, Flava Netball Club hosted a reception evening for the team at Vernon’s Jamaican Restaurant. At the end of the tour, the Jamaican girls presented the Clubs PR Officer, Michelle Welch with a gift of Jamaican goodies for all of the hard work that she had put in to make their stay in the country a comfortable one.
