Since its
inception in 2001, Flava has had a number of newsworthy achievements.
2001/2
- Sport
England awarded an 'Award For All Grant' of £3900 to the club
for the initial club start up costs and to run a schools coaching programme.
- Manchester
Leisure Sports Development awarded a Club Development Grant of £1700
to fund Year 1 of the Junior & Intermediate programme.
- Flava
B were winners of the Manchester Evening League Division 2.
- Flava
A were semi finalist of the Manchester Evening League Rally
- Flava
A were winners of the Trafford Summer League
- The Barbados
National Netball Team visited Flava Netball Club in March 2002 for a
friendly match and reception and were met by the Lord Mayor of Manchester,
Councillor John Smith

Gilkes, Michelle Welch, Juliet Williams, Donna Campbell and Frances
Campbell were awarded their Level 2 Coach Certificate; Patricia Grant
was awarded her Level 1 Coach Certificate.
2002/3

Netball club voted 'Manchester 'Sports Club of the Year' 2002 by Manchester
Leisure Sports Development and Greater Manchester Sports Partnership
- Michelle
Gilkes and Juliet Williams were appointed as Greater Manchester County
Selectors and Active Sport U14 Talent Scouts. Michelle Gilkes has also
been appointed a Trainee Talent Scout for All England Netball Association

Gilkes was selected as Greater Manchester County Under 18 Assistant
Coach

Campbell was selected as All England Active Sport Under 14 Satellite

Grant was selected for the Greater Manchester County
Under 18 squad

Thompson and Kimone Grey have both been selected to train at the All
England Active Sport Under 14 Satellite Coaching Centre
- The first
annual Flava Netball Club Junior & Summer Netball Tournament took
place with funding from the Local Network Fund for Young People and
Children.
